Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and mechanically inclined Building Operator (Commercial) to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems, with the ability to maintain and operate various building systems efficiently. This role requires a proactive approach to facility management, ensuring that all equipment operates smoothly and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily property checks ensuring the property is maintained according to Landlord expectation
• Proactively identify and rectify any general maintenance issues including but not limited to; painting, building envelop, basic plumbing, lighting, electrical, roofing, carpentry, janitorial, snow removal, landscaping, signages, pressure washing, maintain curb appeal of the properties.
• Respond quickly and efficiently to all tenant and property management requests, including emergency calls.
• Overseeing preventative maintenance and repairs of HVAC, roof, and fire-life and safety systems.
• Ensure fire life safety systems are operating efficiently.
• Coordinate and oversee vendors working on-site to ensure efficient operations
• Communicate with manager on building inefficiencies.
• Provide on-call coverage and be available to work after-hours and weekends for any site emergency and/or unscheduled work.
• Assist with seasonal building requirements.
• Communicate and execute work procedures as set out by management.
• Travel between properties as required.
• Other assigned duties as required.

Qualifications & Attributes

• 1-3 years of commercial building operations experience.

Must be inclusive and supportive of the diversity within the Lansdowne team

• Possession of a valid 5th Class Power Engineering Certificate is required.
• Knowledge of building mechanical/electrical equipment, HVAC, electrical, fire-life and safety, plumbing systems, and preventative maintenance programs.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required.
• Must be willing to work on a schedule of work.
• A dedication to providing exceptional service, every day.
• Maintenance experience in a retail / commercial property environment an asset.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills.
• Effective time management and organizational skills are advantageous.
• Proven organizational and multi-tasking skills with an ability to meet deadlines with complete ownership and accountability.
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a collaborative and respectful manner.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year

Additional pay:

Experience:

• commercial building operations : 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:
