Mobile Building Operator - Vancouver BC
We are a facilities maintenance company seeking a Mobile Building Operator to service a portfolio of commercial properties in Vancouver, BC.
Requirements:
- Valid BC Driver’s License (BCDL) and access to a reliable vehicle (required).
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, hands-on professional with experience in building maintenance and repair. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, preventive maintenance, and general upkeep of commercial facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance and repairs to building envelope, equipment, and grounds, including plumbing, lighting, electrical, roofing, and HVAC systems.
- Complete minor carpentry, drywall, and painting tasks as required.
- Conduct routine inspections of life safety systems (fire alarms, sprinklers, backflow preventers, extinguishers, emergency lighting) to ensure compliance with provincial regulations.
- Coordinate and liaise with external contractors and service providers for specialized repairs or scheduled maintenance.
- Collaborate with other departments on the installation and repair of facility-related equipment.
- Maintain and manage the facilities work order system, ensuring timely response and resolution of tickets.
- Perform regular facility inspections to identify and address issues proactively.
- Monitor recycling areas and manage overflow or related concerns.
- Participate in and help coordinate facility improvement projects.
- Maintain tools and equipment; arrange for repairs or replacements when needed.
- Carry out various miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the Facilities Manager.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, environmental policies, and recycling/sustainability initiatives.
Qualifications:
- 2–3 years of related experience in building maintenance or trades.
- Experience or training in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, or other relevant trades.
- Ability to read blueprints and use hand/power tools and measuring equipment.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders and stairs, and be on your feet for extended periods.
- Strong time management skills, ability to work independently, and take initiative.
- Professional attitude with a strong commitment to safety and customer service.
- Team-oriented and detail-focused.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.00-$29.00 per hour
