The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Director of Facilities Management, the incumbent is responsible for the effective leadership and management of operational activities and health, safety, and environmental compliance within the College. This role ensures that the physical environment supports safe, efficient, and sustainable operations while complying with all applicable legislation, policies, and best practices.

The incumbent develops, recommends, and implements approved health and safety measures to ensure the College provides a safe working and learning environment. The role also includes assessing, developing, and executing programs related to maintenance operations, asset renewal, and capital improvements. The incumbent oversees day-to-day operations, supervises staff, manages projects, and liaises with external contractors and regulatory bodies to support continuous improvement and institutional compliance.

What you need to be successful:

  • A three-year diploma/degree in Architectural/Engineering, Business Administration, Health & Safety or a related field
  • Health and Safety Certification recognized by a Board of Certified Professionals (ie. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) and/or Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) or the commitment to become certified within a prescribed term
  • A certified member in good standing accredited with a professional association (ie. OAA, PEO, OACETT etc) considered an asset
  • PMP or CEFP additional credentials considered an asset
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a related field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in progressive leadership and management roles
  • Project management, scheduling and CMMP application experience considered an asset
  • Experience with facility maintenance and operations
  • Experience with automated controls (HVAC, lighting and BMS systems)
  • Excellent team building, interpersonal, communications, decision-making, time-management and planning skills
  • Excellent human resource management skills along with conflict resolution and facilitation experience
  • Ability to communicate both internally and externally in a professional manner
  • Experience with AutoCAD considered an asset

Sault College provides an attractive total compensation package, encompassing competitive wages/salaries, a defined benefit pension plan, group insurance benefits, and a variety of employee perks. This is a full-time administrative position. Salary range is payband 11 $96,466 to $120,582 and is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
