Typical Duties and Responsibilities

• Resurface the ice with Zamboni as necessary and ensure a smooth quality surface
• Resurface Mini Rink using hand tools
• Maintain the facility cleanliness through sweeping, mopping, dusting, shoveling, emptying garbages and thoroughly cleaning change rooms, washrooms and showers
• Maintain Zamboni (ie. grease fittings as per schedule), nets/boards/glass in the rink area.
• Minor building maintenance & tasks as required and directed
• Open/close the facility with no supervision.
• Post room assignments as per daily facility schedule

Qualifications & Experience Required

• Valid G Licence
• Experience operating Zamboni, Olympia or other heavy machinery an asset
• Experience using an edger an asset
• Able to work in cold on-ice conditions
• Must be physically able to complete repetitive tasks
• Able to work weekday evenings and weekend shifts (see below)
• Mechanical background and refrigeration experience an asset
• Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to follow direction of supervisors

Shifts & Timing:

• 1-2 Weekdays 3pm - 11pm (+/- an hour based on bookings)
• 1 Weekend day 12pm - Close (closing time based on bookings but is generally around 8pm). These times may vary during Summer/Fall.
• Additional shifts available on occasion

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
