We are looking for a dedicated and driven Site Superintendent to join our team, someone who shares our passion and commitment to excellence. If you have the desire to learn, coupled with the integrity and expertise necessary for success, we want you on board.
As a Site Superintendent you are responsible for directing, organizing, and controlling all project activities from the site. You will also supervise all sub-contractors in the execution of construction activities, ensuring that all project documents such as drawings, specifications, and contracts are being strictly followed and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. The Site Superintendent shall be responsible for scheduling, inspections, and quality control, including adherence to and enforcement of the Occupational Health & Safety Management Program.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Overseeing and managing the daily operations at the project site, including safety protocols, planning, scheduling, site logistics, quality control, resource allocation, material management, and trade coordination to ensure timely and successful project completion in alignment with company standards.
- Executing and ensuring adherence to the project's quality control and assurance plans.
- Ensuring full compliance with AP Contracting’s health and safety standards.
- Developing and tracking the project schedule, ensuring alignment with project milestones and requirements.
- Implementing strategies to recover lost time or optimize project timelines where necessary.
- Coordinating and managing seamless communication and collaboration between subcontractors.
- Ensuring the project is executed according to approved plans and specifications.
- Assisting the Project Manager in overseeing and managing project costs.
- Preparing detailed look-ahead schedules to maintain project momentum.
- Offering support in estimating and preconstruction activities as needed.
- Maintaining comprehensive daily logs and records in accordance with company and project guidelines.
Required Competencies
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role in the construction industry, within the residential and commercial sectors. Experience in ICI construction is a strong asset.
- Deep understanding of the construction industry, including building materials, construction drawings & specifications, methods, and best practices.
- Strong communication skills across written, verbal, email, telephone, and in-person interactions.
- Self-motivated, independent, and highly dynamic individual.
- Proficient with field technology—working knowledge of Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, and similar platforms is a strong asset.
Certifications required:
- Supervisor Competency Training (e.g., Basics of Supervision), Working at Heights, and First Aid. (Can be obtained through AP Contracting Inc.)
- Demonstrated ability to enforce company safety policies for all site personnel.
- Experience in completing required health and safety documentation for projects.
- Consistently able to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Expertise in developing project execution strategies, schedules, and resource forecasts in collaboration with project management teams.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including night shifts, as required.
Education
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management or other appropriate disciplines is an asset.
- Experience with Procore is considered a strong asset.

- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
Working Conditions
- Primarily site-based and works in both indoor and outdoor environments on construction projects.
- Attending meetings outside of the site as required.
- Computer work, sitting at a desk to compile reports, meetings, emails, phone calls, and other tasks.
- Other: Proof of credentials to be provided; testing & reference checks will be performed
