About the team
Turo is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our fast-growing team. You will be responsible for owning the Global general ledger activities including posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and partnering with cross functional teams across the organization to support month end, quarter end and year-end close activities. You will report directly to the Accounting Manager where you will focus primarily on month end close activities while also supporting the accounting team with key initiatives to upgrade the efficiency of our close activities and improve the overall control environment.

What you’ll do:
Responsible for the Global general ledger which includes cash, prepaids, fixed assets, payroll, credit cards and allocations. You will be required to prepare journal entries and reconcile your assigned balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
Partner with the Procurement and Accounts Payable teams to ensure invoice coding which affects key general ledger accounts are reviewed for accuracy in Coupa. Additionally, you will identify weaknesses and communicate feedback or process improvements where necessary.
Develop new processes and look for opportunities to improve the speed, accuracy and efficiency of the month end close in your assigned sections. Additionally, look for opportunities to improve working schedules, reconciliations, and quality of documentation to support an efficient year-end audit.
Participate in ensuring accurate and timely month end, quarter end and year-end accounting close activities, including being a key point of contact for provided-by-client annual audit requests.
Support ad-hoc projects that improve key processes, such as integrating NetSuite to our banking platform for automated bank reconciliations.
Support external audit requirements related to specific areas of responsibility.
Assist with preparing and putting together supporting PBC schedules for ongoing audit specifically related to US and international general ledger.
Inter-company journal entry with Multi currencies operation CAD, USD, AUD, GBP and EUR.
Responsible for Global Balance Sheet and P&L Flux analysis.
Your Profile
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance and/or Business
Experience working with NetSuite, or another large-scale accounting system
Experience working with Coupa is preferred
Experience working in the tech industry in a fast-paced environment
Must have experience posting journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, making accruals, and building high quality working papers
High attention to detail, critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
Team player who works well with cross functional teams and external business partners. Confident communicator
Comfortable navigating uncertainty. Embraces change and approaches work with a continuous improvement mindset
Ability to work independently

For this role, the target base salary range in San Francisco is $120,000 - $150,000 annually. This role is also eligible for equity and benefits. In general, our ranges reflect the market-based target for new hire salaries based on the level and location of the role. Within the range, individual pay is determined by objective factors assessed during the application and interview process, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Turists will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
