We handle claims with expertise and care, offering clear guidance and timely resolutions. Through proactive assistance and strategic insights, we help maintain trust and reliability on the Turo platform, empowering users to navigate claims with confidence.

We are looking for a customer focused Summer Student - Claims Associate to join our team in Toronto. We will train you on the claims process and how to review and assess damage claims filed by Turo hosts and guests. This is an exciting opportunity to join a terrific team with a high-energy work environment. You will make an impact on a challenging part of the business as we expand to new provinces across Canada. What you will do

  • Deliver an empathetic, best-in-class claims experience to Turo hosts and guests

  • Coordinate claims processing with Turo's third party vendors

  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement in Turo’s processes for claims handling, strive to make Turo's organization a leader in customer service and cost management

  • Be an active contributor to Turo’s claims department and a revolutionary culture pioneer

Your profile

  • Second or third-year university students from all academic backgrounds who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in the claims and the peer-to-peer car sharing marketplace, as well as developing their professional skills

  • Experience in customer-facing communication, multitasking, and strong time management skills

  • Ability to prioritize and organize daily tasks as assigned

  • Excellent follow-through, attention to detail, and with minimal need for supervision

  • Must be a team player, with positive attitude, high energy, high integrity, strong work ethic, enthusiasm, sense of humour, and a commitment to the mission

  • Reside in the Toronto, Ontario, Canada area. We are currently in a hybrid work environment.

Bonus if you have

  • Eagerness for success and growth

  • Proficiency with technology: Google Docs, MS Office, internet, mobile systems. Mac expertise is a plus.

  • Fluency in French


Schedule - Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM

Training will be in office for the first 5 weeks

Enjoy the flexibility of working from home on Mondays and Fridays upon completing training.

The Toronto base pay for this full-time position is $22 an hour. In general, our ranges reflect the market-based target for new hire salaries based on the level and location of the role. Within the range, individual pay is determined by objective factors assessed during the application and interview process, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. We encourage you to talk with your recruiter to learn more about the total compensation and benefits available for this role.
