About the job
We are looking for a hands-on and experienced accountant to join our growing finance team and reporting to Director of Finance.
In this role, you will take ownership of the month-end close process, oversee the implementation of our new ERP system, and ensure accuracy and consistency across our accounting records. You will also collaborate closely with the Account Coordination team to resolve customer payment issues, manage invoicing, and oversee Accounts Receivable activities.
Location: Hybrid (3 days in our Mississauga office).
About you
You have a strong foundation in accounting principles and enjoy working independently on complex accounting tasks. You are detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable diving into both process improvements and day-to-day accounting work. You take pride in clean, accurate financials and bring experience in managing month-end close cycles.
You are comfortable with cloud-based accounting systems (such as QuickBooks Online) and excited to help drive the implementation of our new ERP platform.
What you’ll do
Lead and perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Oversee the implementation and transition to a new ERP system, coordinating data migration and process alignment.
Maintain general ledger, ensuring all the journal entries are recorded accurately and in a timely manner during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
Work closely with the Account Coordination team to resolve Accounts Receivable issues, manage customer invoicing, and ensure proper recording of payments.
Monitor aging reports and support collection efforts as needed.
Maintain up-to-date, accurate financial records in QuickBooks Online.
Oversee payroll processing and drive improvements to the employee expense reimbursement process to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency.
Assist in preparing audit schedules and supporting documentation for year-end review.
Assist in the development and monitoring of annual budgets and forecasts.

Support continuous improvement by identifying and implementing accounting process enhancements.
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Business Administration required.
At least 5 years of progressive experience in accounting roles, ideally at growing start-up.
Solid understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles.
Experience managing month-end close processes.
Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and advanced spreadsheet skills (Google Sheets or Excel).
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy in work.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have
Experience supporting or leading ERP system implementations.
Experience working in a manufacturing or product-based company ****(cost tracking, inventory, and COGS understanding is a plus).
CPA designation or in-progress.
Experience with Accounts Receivable and collections.
Familiarity with Stripe or other payment processing systems.
