About the job
We are a startup with ambitious plans for 2025 and are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Engineer to help us build Trexos faster, better, and consistently. As part of a small team of 6 engineers, you will play a crucial role in developing and enhancing the electrical systems integral to our cutting-edge robotic technology.
This position is hybrid (3 days in the office).
About you
You want to work in a small team solving a big problem while helping an underserved community. You love when products just work and can't believe how some bugs make it out in the wild. You are detail-oriented and love asking why often until you understand something from first principles.
What you'll do
Create and maintain design requirements while completing traceability to outputs and V&V.
Design, develop and maintain our PCBs for motor control, power distribution, LED displays and test automation.
Assist in firmware development for embedded systems and test fixtures (using 62304).
Design, develop and maintain other electrical parts such as cables, battery, chargers etc.
Participate in internal and external lab verification activities (using 60601-1, 60601-2).
Create work instructions for incoming inspection, in process testing and assembly of electrical parts.
Support the manufacturing, service and supply chain teams by troubleshooting technical issues and communicating with external stakeholders.
Maintain and update the DHF and participate in releasing DMRs.

Lead compliance efforts related to electrical safety standards (UL, cMETus).
Required Skills and Experience:
5+ years of experience in an electrical design role.
Experience using electrical CAD software (Altium).
Strong knowledge of standards such as 60601, 62304, 13485.
Extensive experience with hardware design and volume manufacturing for medical devices or robotics using cGMP.
Extensive experience with embedded software development in C/C++ and working in a linux environment.
Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
Hands-on experience with solder, crimping and using standard electrical test tools.

Nice to Have
Previous experience in a medical device company.
Knowledge of ROS.
