About the job
We're looking to hire a first IT Specialist to join our small team, ensuring seamless operation of our IT infrastructure and driving automation. This offers the opportunity to work independently with all Trexo employees, based in our office or remotely in various locations.
This position is fully in-person, in our office in Mississauga.
About you
You want to work in a small team solving a big problem. You are excited by the prospect of revolutionizing multiple industries. You can juggle many tasks simultaneously. You are detail-oriented and love asking why many times till you understand something from first principles.
You have a proven track record in technical support, particularly within smaller organizations, and you excel in environments where you can wear multiple hats and manage various responsibilities.
What you will do:
Manage software updates and accounts across various platforms and tools, including setting up accounts for new users and assisting with employee onboarding and off-boarding.
Assure the compliance of company practice and policies with data privacy regulations like HIPAA, PIPEDA, or GDPR.
Manage google drive file storage, including access control and backups.
Install and configure computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners in our office and for remote employees.
Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks.
Support business operations by managing and setting up automations using no code tools like Zapier or scripting languages like Javascript.
Provide training on IT polices for different software tools across the company (in person or online).
Implement new technology solutions and platforms.

Provide guidance and best practices on IT services to end users.
Required Skills/Experience:
At least 3 years of experience in the similar role, ideally in the highly regulated industry processing healthcare related data.
College/University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience is executing IT policies and managing implementation projects.

Technical Proficiency in
Proven experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware and software.
Experience with setting up and managing work environments/ OS including Linux, Windows, and macOS
Strong understanding of network protocols and systems.
Experience with platform integrations for workflow automation, ideally with Zapier.
Competence in Javascript, python or bash scripting; frontend development experience is beneficial.
Able to work independently multitasking and efficiently to meet deadlines
Self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized.

Excellent people skills and time management skills.
Nice to have:
CHPA, CHSS, or NIST certification, or working towards them, is nice to have
Good knowledge of ISO/IEC 27001 is an international standard to manage information security.
Experience with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, GCP.
Experience with databases and query language such as SQL.
