We currently have an opening for a Human Resources Team Lead, who has significant experience in compensation. This is an 18-month fixed term opportunity, covering a maternity leave, with meaningful ownership and impact across HR programs and strategy. About the Opportunity:
Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, we are looking for someone to lead and inspire a team of HR professionals who deliver full suite HR support to our employees in the Americas and Asia-Pacific regions. This role is ideal for someone who is not afraid of challenges, hard work and learning new things, and who is inspired by driving people strategy, shaping culture and fostering inclusive and high-performance teams.
In this role you will be expected to:
- Serve as a trusted HR business partner to leaders and employees.
- Take a leading role in building a compensation framework, including the design and delivery of a global model, customized to local requirements.
- Support the VP, HR with workforce planning, compensation, benefits, performance management, organizational design, training and talent development.
- Coach leaders on best practices around leadership, employee relations, performance management, change management and effective teamwork.
- Provide HR support and guidance to employees in the Americas and APAC regions.
- Lead, coach, and develop a small team of HR professionals to achieve both individual and team goals.
- Build and maintain a team culture of feedback, recognition, and psychological safety.
- Create content on various subjects for both internal and external communications.
- Provide support for recruitment and onboarding activities.
- Support employee engagement and retention efforts, both globally and locally.
- Generate, maintain and leverage HR reports to support business decisions and continuous improvement efforts.
- Provide support for HR system administration, ensuring data integrity, system functionality, streamlined processes, efficiency and appropriate access.
- Participate in department projects and initiatives.
- Contribute to HR strategic planning initiatives.
About You:
- You have a degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business, Labour Relations or another related field.
- You have 4-7 years of progressive HR experience and at least 1 year of management experience.
- You have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in compensation / total rewards.
- You ideally have experience in countries outside of Canada, though this is not required.
- You have experience advising managers and leaders on handling complex employment matters.
- You are a self-starter with excellent organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail.
- You have the ability to manage multiple priorities, projects and competing deadlines.
- You have exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills, strong judgement, and high emotional intelligence.
- You possess emotional maturity and judgement to handle sensitive information with integrity, diplomacy and tact.
- You have exceptional customer service skills and a demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels in an organization.
- You have strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel and data analysis.
- You are proficient with the Microsoft Suite of products, including Teams and Sharepoint.
- You are willing to work flexible hours to accommodate time zone differences.
