About the Opportunity

We currently have an opening for a Software Developer in Test at our office in Brussels, Belgium. Reporting to the Software Development Manager and be responsible for testing developed software created by the Transoft Solutions Brussels development team. The position will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating all aspects of automated and manual testing, and helping ensure that the software maintains all Transoft Solutions quality expectations upon release.

NOTE: This is a hybrid role where you will be expected to work a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.

In this role, you will be expected to:

  • Learn, be proficient, and keep up to date with all developments in the Transoft’s fast-time simulation and operational products;
  • Develop, maintain, and execute product test procedures;
  • Review product code and design new test plans;
  • Create and set up new tools and infrastructure for new test environments;
  • Perform detailed analysis of our software’s output data;
  • Develop, maintain and execute installation test procedures to ensure that the product installation works in different environments and configurations;
  • Maintain test environment across multiple test servers;
  • Assist in the writing and reviewing of technical documents as required;
  • Groom test cases to ensure overall system quality and test coverage;
  • Ensure product quality by assisting customer support and QA to debug, troubleshoot, and report issues into bug tracking system;
  • Collaborate and work closely with software developers and QA to gather test requirements and implement them;
  • Provide customer support, by phone and email, for issues relating to networking, software deployment, simulation modelling, and software bugs;
  • Work within an agile software development process and contribute to the improvement of that process;
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders and be accountable to each other to achieve the project's vision;
  • Perform other QA and testing tasks as required by the product teams;

About You:

  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively, respectfully, and tactfully;
  • You have excellent problem-solving skills to identify issues and solve them tactfully;
  • You have analytical skills to gather and review information;
  • You remain up to date with technology;
  • You can work under pressure in a deadline-driven agile software development environment;
  • You have the ability to write detailed defect reports;
  • You are detail oriented;
  • You have excellent organizational and facilitation skills;

Qualification & Experience:

  • You have a Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar field;
  • You have experience developing in one or more programming and scripting languages such as Java, C++, C#, python, bash, groovy, ...etc;
  • You have 2+ years experience in software testing;
  • You are proficient in Linux operating systems and have experience with bash scripting;
  • You have experience in air traffic fast-time simulation, or other types of traffic simulation (preferred);
