This is a full-time, remote position based in Canada or the United States.
As a Social Media Manager at ToursByLocals, you will play a pivotal role in amplifying our brand’s voice and engaging our audience in meaningful ways. Reporting into the Head of Marketing, you will be responsible for our social media strategy in collaboration with PR and Performance Marketing teams to drive our online presence and cultivate a community of loyal followers. What this means is that you will use expert knowledge in lifestyle branding social media techniques to build a community engaged followers. If this sounds like you, apply below!
Your primary goal will be to increase engagement and follower growth across all our platforms and you will do this by:
- Develop and implement a dynamic social media strategy that aligns with our broader marketing and brand goals.
- Create, curate, and manage platform-specific content (posts, stories, videos) that captures our brand’s voice and engages our audience.
- Build and nurture an engaged community by responding to comments, managing conversations, and fostering meaningful connections.
- Analyze and report on social media performance metrics to track success and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our social media efforts are consistent and aligned with overall brand messaging.
You may be the right person for this role if you:
- Have a strong record of building and managing social media communities on major platforms (Instagram, Facebook, etc.).
- Are skilled in creating engaging, visually compelling content, with experience in graphic design and video editing.
- Use data to inform decisions and optimize social strategies for maximum impact.
- Communicate effectively with followers, maintaining an approachable and on-brand tone.
- Keep up-to-date with social media trends, algorithm changes, and new tools and techniques.
- 5 plus years of experience working as a social media manager for an established lifestyle brand
- Love to learn and grow - you challenge yourself to learn, fail, and constantly improve, whether that’s through formal education or by gaining professional experience.
Some bonuses for us are if you:
- Have experience in influencer or affiliate partnerships to expand reach and credibility.
- Understand how to optimize posts for search visibility and increase organic traffic.

We are committed to equitable compensation for employees in similar roles across various regions. The hiring range for this position in Canada is set at $85K - $100K. We look forward to discussing this with you during our hiring process.
