Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President of Public Sector to join our leadership team. The Vice President of Public Sector will play a critical role in driving our company's growth by identifying, cultivating, and managing government-specific partnerships and projects that align with our business objectives and contribute to our overall success. This role will be based in Toronto and includes an international travel requirement.
The ideal candidate is confident in their ability to manage large-scale government sales cycles with minimal support. You will co-sell Thrive in new geographies alongside trusted partners and will be excited to grow our partnerships within the public sector on an international scale.
Responsibilities
Develop and Execute Partnership Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive public sector partnership strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives. Identify key partnership opportunities and prioritize initiatives that will drive revenue growth, market expansion, and brand awareness within the government sector.
Lead Government Partnership Initiatives: Take ownership of public sector partnership initiatives from inception to execution. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, industry influencers, and internal teams. Negotiate partnership agreements and ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.
Drive Revenue Generation: Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product teams to identify public sector partnership opportunities that will generate revenue and accelerate business growth. Develop innovative partnership models and revenue-sharing agreements to maximize profitability within the government sector.
Manage Partner Relationships: Serve as the primary point of contact for government partners. Nurture relationships, address concerns, and resolve conflicts to ensure mutual satisfaction and long-term success. Continuously assess partner performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Manage Large Deployments: Oversee and manage the delivery of large deployments to both existing customers and new customers. Serve as executive touch-point for day to day operations with leadership of customers and partners for ongoing business.
Stay Current on Industry Trends: Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies within the public sector to identify new partnership opportunities and stay ahead of industry developments. Leverage industry knowledge to inform partnership strategies and drive innovation.
Provide Strategic Guidance: Collaborate with senior leadership to provide strategic guidance on public sector partnership opportunities and their potential impact on the business. Present findings, recommendations, and progress reports to executive team members and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred, but not required).
  • Proven track record of success in developing and managing strategic partnerships, preferably within the government sector or related fields.
  • Experience working with publicly traded software companies and “big four” management consulting companies is considered a strong asset.
  • Willing and able to travel when required.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to think strategically, analyze complex problems, and develop innovative solutions.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Deep understanding of public sector market dynamics, industry trends, and competitive landscapes.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and achieve business objectives through strategic public sector partnerships.
Base Compensation up to $200,000.00
Variable Compensation tied to Sales and Delivery outcomes.
