The Logic is now accepting applications for a full-time director of growth marketing (M3-level band) to join its growing corporate team.
We are an independent, made-in-Canada digital media company founded in 2018 with the belief that Canadians will pay for great journalism. Combining exclusive news, in-depth reporting, insightful analysis and smart curation, we confront the critical questions that shape this country’s economic future. We are headquartered in Toronto, with bureaus in Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa and Montreal.
We’re looking for an experienced growth marketer to lead The Logic’s marketing strategies across consumer, corporate, sponsorship and event revenue streams to increase awareness and top-of-the-funnel referrals, optimize conversions and retain engaged users. The successful candidate understands the science of growth marketing, has a revenue mindset and a deep curiosity for the customer journey.
Reporting to the COO and collaborating closely with the senior leadership team, this role can be remote, but requires occasional travel to The Logic’s Toronto headquarters for strategic planning and team collaboration (minimum 3–5 times per year).
This is a unique opportunity to help shape the next phase of The Logic’s growth, tapping into new audiences and broadening the impact of The Logic’s journalism.
What you’ll do:
- Lead The Logic’s funnel growth strategy, from awareness to acquisition and retention, identifying improvements in the user journey, testing messaging, placements and promotions to drive funnel performance
- Develop pricing models and promotional campaigns across consumer and B2B channels that support both acquisition and retention goals
- Develop lifecycle marketing campaigns from acquisition to retention across email, web and app to nurture user engagement, boost retention and deepen audience loyalty
- Oversee creative development, copywriting, packaging and distribution of marketing assets; ensure all campaigns are on brand and aligned with business objectives
- Own and optimize paid acquisition channels, including Google Ads and LinkedIn, and identify new opportunities for experimentation
- Collaborate with product and analytics team to test and improve key performance metrics
- Manage and mentor a cross-functional team in executing growth and promotional strategies
Who you are:
- 5+ years of experience in growth marketing, digital acquisition or audience development, ideally within a subscription-based or media business *Candidates with relevant transferable skills and experience should still apply!
- Strong understanding of lifecycle marketing, performance channels, content monetization and audience segmentation
- Proven ability to design and execute growth strategies that drive measurable results
- Experience with marketing and CRM tools (Mailchimp, Piano, HubSpot, Google Ads or similar platforms)
- Excellent analytical, communication and copywriting skills
- Strong project management abilities; able to balance multiple priorities and cross-functional stakeholders
- Strategic thinker who is hands-on and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
