Job Description:
The Logic is seeking a Senior Director of Events and Special Projects to lead the creation, development and execution of high-profile events and revenue-generating initiatives and the creation and monetization of sponsored content.
The Senior Director will be responsible for generating sponsorships, developing key partnerships and ensuring the smooth execution of events and content that reflect The Logic’s values and elevate our brand.
This individual will work closely with the COO for the operational and revenue-related aspects of their job, while maintaining The Logic’s editorial integrity and alignment with the organization’s mission through consultation with the Editor-in-Chief/CEO.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ideation and execution: Create and execute commercially viable products that are aligned with The Logic’s editorial vision, including work on The Logic’s marquee Summit and other sponsored events (approximately 15/year).
  • Build out sponsored content that enhances the product offering, providing packaged opportunities for partners and upholds the editorial integrity of the brand.
  • Business development and sponsorship: Partner with sales and marketing teams to secure sponsorships, partnerships and other revenue-generating opportunities for events and franchises.
  • Operational Management: Oversee logistics, budgeting, contractor and freelance relationships, vendor management and event execution in collaboration with the COO, ensuring that events are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Editorial integrity and brand alignment: Ensure sponsored content and tone of events align with The Logic’’s values and mission. Collaborate with the CEO/Editor-in-Chief for strategic editorial guidance and approval of high-level content direction.
  • Cross-department collaboration: Work with departments across the organization to ensure that content, marketing and operational aspects of events are seamlessly integrated.
  • Audience engagement: Develop strategies to engage The Logic’s audience through events, creating memorable experiences that strengthen the brand's relationship with its community.
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in event management, sponsorship sales or special projects, ideally in a media or publishing environment.
  • Proven track record of creating and managing revenue-generating events, with a strong understanding of how to balance editorial integrity and business objectives.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills, with the ability to handle large, multi-faceted events.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships with sponsors, partners and internal teams.
  • Established network of industry contacts, including potential clients, sponsors and partners, with the ability to tap into those relationships to quickly generate business opportunities and drive event success.
  • Strong understanding of the media landscape and how to create events that align with both editorial goals and commercial objectives.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a team while collaborating cross-functionally with editorial and operational staff.
