The Social Media Manager Position:
TKS trains young people to solve important problems in the world, and we're often asked "how do the students hear about you?”.
In reality, there isn't a one-size-fits-all answer to that question. Approximately 19% of TKS students stumbled upon us through Instagram, 14% via Snapchat, 17% on TikTok, 24% through Discord, and the list goes on...
In a nutshell, our lean Growth team is operating at full capacity. Here's where you come in! You get the chance to find and interact with the world’s smartest youth and biggest brands to bring TKS to life on our social channels. Our students live in 65 countries, attend the best schools, speak on the world’s largest stages (SXSW, WebSummit & Gitex) and intern at top companies like Tesla, NASA, Google and more. You’ll have a front row seat to the adventure.
We’re looking for a Social Media Manager to join our Growth team. Our ideal candidate will take full responsibility for the social KPIs including a target to double followers across all channels by the end of 2024. You’ll have an understanding of trends, tools and an ability to make viral content.
You will be reporting to the head of growth.
You will be responsible for:
Increasing performance of the TKS social channels. This includes increasing engagement, followers and shares on each channel. Overall followers should double by the end of 2024.
Create a strategic content calendar to achieve KPIs
Monitoring social media channels for industry trends, interacting with users and responding to social media messages, inquiries, and comments
Sourcing and coordinating influencers to represent TKS and amplify our exposure
Creating viral content (with assistance from designers and video editors)
Evolve the TKS brand by developing graphics that convey our brand and message appropriately
Reviewing analytics, reporting on channel KPIs, and meeting set growth targets
Skills & Experience We're Looking For:
3+ years of social media management or related experience
Experience with social media management tools (Hootsuite, Sprout etc.)
Experience with video editing and content creation
Strong written communication (English)
We'll geek out if you:
Have worked in a similar capacity within a start-up environment
Are organized, yet creative
You've built a following before, for groups or third-parties specifically
Have done some copywriting or editing in past roles, or projects
Are able to critically link the content you're building to a bigger strategy
Are eager to learn, make revers-able mistakes and play a significant role in the TKS story
