What You'll Do
- Lead and Inspire: Guide a team of mobile and frontend engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability. Provide technical direction while enabling scalable, high-quality product delivery.
- Mentor and Develop Talent: Provide individualized coaching, career growth opportunities, and actionable feedback. Build a culture of learning, ownership, and engagement within the team.
- Drive Process Excellence: Introduce and refine engineering workflows, agile practices, and delivery processes that enable the team to move quickly while maintaining quality. Use a data-driven approach to identifying areas of improvement and measure progress as improvements are made.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with the Telecom Core (backend) team, product managers, and designers to align on strategy and translate it into actionable engineering roadmaps. Work with stakeholders across the Telecom pod to communicate progress, identify risks, and ensure product success.
- Technical Oversight: Leverage your mobile development expertise and full-stack experienceto guide technical direction at both the design and code level, from reviewing pull requests to providing feedback on architecture and experimentation plans that sharpens code quality, scalability, and maintainability. You’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves to keep the bar high.
- Enable Success: Remove blockers, set clear expectations, and create the conditions for the team to thrive and deliver meaningful customer value.
Who You Are
- Experienced Leader: A proven technical leader with 7+ years of experience in software engineering, including 3+ years managing engineering teams. You have experience with mobile and/or frontend development and familiarity with backend systems.
- People-First Manager: A dedicated mentor with a track record of coaching and growing engineers while fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and psychological safety.
- Mobile-Oriented, Full-Stack Fluent: Strong background in iOS and/or Android development, with experience guiding teams that work across frontend and backend systems.
- Process Driver: Skilled at implementing practices that improve team velocity, quality, and satisfaction using data and feedback to guide continuous improvement
- Effective Communicator: Clear, transparent, and respectfully candid, with the ability to foster alignment across distributed teams.
- Collaborative Partner: Excels at working cross-functionally with product, design, and backend teams to deliver results that balance technical quality and business impact.
