We are looking for a detail-oriented and strategically minded Senior Financial Analyst to join our finance team. Your responsibilities will include partnering with Senior Leaders and functional business leaders with financial planning and budgeting processes, analyzing financial statements and reports, expense management, developing financial models, and decision support. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will also be willing to jump in and support ad hoc projects.
To be successful as a Senior Financial Analyst, you should be able to perform a variety of financial activities including planning, analysis, budgeting, and reporting. You should also have strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills and be able to present financial information and models in a concise and easily comprehensible manner.
Candidates must be able to commute to our Waterloo, Ontario office at least once a week
What You'll Do
- Review and analyze period end financial statements and reports
- Ensures the financial reporting is accurate from a performance management (i.e. cost center) perspective
- Liaison with Business Leaders and other internal parties to recommend transactional processing changes for improved internal and external reporting
- Track KPIs and prepare financial reports
- Assistin development of monthly Forecast, Annual budget, and Strategic plans
- Understand key business drivers
- Assist project teams with financial guidance
- Develop financial projections and build financial models
- Perform research and analysis as required
- Ensure compliance with financial guidelines, company policies, and relevant legal regulations
- Preparation of financial due diligence packages
- Support of ERP and other financial systems implementations and improvements
Who You Are
- Creator of cool stuff with a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
- Brilliant collaborator with 3-5 years of experience in financial planning, analysis, and modeling
- Someone who takes action and ownership with the ability to present financial information to a non-financial audience
- Respectfully candid with excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills and ability to interact with high credibility at all levels of the organization
- A bold risk-taker and self-starter who is detail-oriented and able to perform in a high-pressure environment
- Resourceful and scrappy with strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of financial strategies
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Vena and NetSuite
- Solid knowledge of accounting functions
- Detail oriented and organized
- Flexible and able to prioritize tasks
- Must demonstrate flexibility, strong commitment to meeting deadlines, and solid decision-making skills
- Self-motivator with ability to work independently
