We are seeking an experienced and strategic Developer Relations Manager to lead our efforts in promoting Tenstorrent's opensource software, managing our developer community, and cultivating a robust ecosystem around our AI technologies. This pivotal role will focus on establishing and nurturing key relationships with academia and industry partners to attract hardcore developers to build on Tenstorrent's software and hardware platforms.

This role is hybrid, based out of Austin, TX or Santa Clara, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Open Source Strategy and Promotion:
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to promote Tenstorrent's opensource software initiatives.
    • Oversee the creation and maintenance of high-quality documentation, tutorials, and sample projects to facilitate adoption of Tenstorrent's opensource tools.
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to identify opportunities for open-sourcing internal tools and libraries.
  • Ecosystem Development:
    • Establish and nurture strategic relationships with key academic institutions, research labs, and industry partners in the AI and high-performance computing sectors.
    • Create and manage programs to incentivize hardcore developers to build on Tenstorrent's software and hardware platforms.
    • Identify and pursue opportunities for integration with popular AI frameworks and tools to expand Tenstorrent's ecosystem.
  • Developer Community Leadership:
    • Oversee the growth and engagement of Tenstorrent's developer community across various platforms, including Discord, GitHub, and forums.
    • Develop and implement strategies to attract, retain, and support a community of hardcore developers and AI researchers.
    • Plan and execute developer-focused events, including hackathons, workshops, and conferences, to showcase Tenstorrent's technologies and foster collaboration.
  • Thought Leadership and Representation:
    • Represent Tenstorrent at high-profile industry events, conferences, and academic symposiums.
    • Produce thought leadership content, including technical blog posts, whitepapers, and presentations, to establish Tenstorrent's position in the AI and opensource communities.
    • Build and maintain relationships with key influencers, thought leaders, and decision-makers in the AI and high-performance computing spaces.
  • Feedback Loop and Product Influence:
    • Establish effective channels for gathering and synthesizing feedback from the developer community, academic partners, and industry collaborators.
    • Work closely with product and engineering teams to ensure community insights and needs are incorporated into Tenstorrent's product roadmap and development priorities.
  • Team Leadership and Strategy:
    • Lead and mentor a team of developer advocates and community managers, ensuring alignment with overall ecosystem growth objectives.
    • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for developer relations initiatives and ecosystem growth.
    • Collaborate with marketing, sales, and product teams to align developer relations efforts with overall company goals and go-to-market strategies.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in developer relations, developer advocacy, or similar roles within the AI, high-performance computing, or related technical fields.
  • Proven track record of building and growing developer communities and opensource ecosystems.
  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in AI, machine learning, and high-performance computing.
  • Excellent understanding of opensource software development practices and licensing.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with academic institutions and industry partners.
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to various audiences.
  • Experience leading and mentoring teams in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Experience with GPUs, Alternative AI accelerators or RISC-V architecture.
  • Contributions to notable opensource projects in the AI or high-performance computing space.
  • Published articles, research papers, or speaking engagements at relevant conferences.
  • Network of established relationships within the AI and high-performance computing communities.

Compensation for all engineers at Tenstorrent ranges from $100k - $500k including base and variable compensation targets. Experience, skills, education, background and location all impact the actual offer made.
