As an AI SoC & Systems Architect - Networking & I/O at Tenstorrent, you will be instrumental in crafting innovative solutions and addressing complex challenges in networking and I/O systems. Your work will involve mapping these solutions onto SoC/SiP architectures across various networking vertical markets. Collaborating closely with the system architecture team and other top-tier talents in superscalar CPU and AI compute hardware and software, you will play a critical role in delivering cutting-edge technologies.
This role is Hybrid, based out of Santa Clara, CA, Boston, MA, Toronto, ON, or Austin, TX.
Responsibilities:
- Translate end-application use cases and workloads into comprehensive systems and SoC architectures.
- Identify necessary IP, perform make-or-buy analysis, and architect solutions as required.
- Contribute to the writing, iteration, and maintenance of SoC specifications.
- Define APIs and SW/HW contracts, ensuring proper co-design dependencies.
- Engage directly with customers to define use cases and system solutions.
- Support virtual and global engineering teams, including third parties and joint ventures, in achieving business objectives.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
- 15+ years of proven experience in Embedded Processor and Network SoC development, from inception to production.
- Expertise in software system architecture with a focus on hardware-software system co-design optimization, especially in networking and I/O workloads.
- Direct experience with open-source platform distributions, including Linux and SONiC.
- In-depth knowledge of network protocols across the Physical to Transport layers, with up-to-date expertise in the latest protocols, line speeds, and various virtualization and acceleration techniques.
- Strong background in high-speed I/O sub-systems such as PCIe, CXL.io, CXL.mem, and storage transports like NVMe, NVMeOF, Object, and Block storage.
- Experience in high-speed network acceleration, with the ability to discern when to use hardware or software termination based on workload requirements.
- Understanding of Identity, Isolation, Security, and Privacy implications at every hardware layer.
- Extensive experience in data center AI/HPC scale-up and scale-out technology, with a deep understanding of the architecture and performance optimization required for large-scale deployments
Compensation for all engineers at Tenstorrent ranges from $100k - $500k including base and variable compensation targets. Experience, skills, education, background and location all impact the actual offer made.
