Job Duties:
A CPU architecture staff engineer is tasked with various responsibilities to ensure optimal hardware performance and efficiency. These responsibilities include: Establishing the direction of CPU architecture based on comprehensive data analysis and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve the best hardware/software solutions that align with Power, Performance, and Area (PPA) goals; Developing a precise cycle-accurate CPU model that delineates the microarchitecture using programming expertise such as C/C++, Verilog, Python, Perl, and/or System Verilog to evaluate new features; Identifying representative benchmarks for software applications; Pinpointing application performance bottlenecks; Conducting data-driven analyses using benchmarks and performance models to assess software, architecture, and micro- architecture solutions. The goal is to enhance performance, power efficiency, hardwarearea, or reduce hardware-design costs; Collaborating with RTL and Physical design teams to make informed trade-offs in power, performance, and area. Leading analysis and correlation of performance features in both pre-Silicon and post-silicon stages. And Collaborating with Software and platform architecture teams to comprehend CPU hardware requirements for AI accelerator compiler, OS, video/image/voice processing, security, networking, and virtualization technology. This role is remote, based in the US.
Compensation for all engineers at Tenstorrent ranges from $100k - $500k including base and variable compensation targets. Experience, skills, education, background and location all impact the actual offer made.
