Tenstorrent is leading the industry on cutting-edge AI technology, revolutionizing performance expectations, ease of use, and cost efficiency. With AI redefining the computing paradigm, solutions must evolve to unify innovations in software models, compilers, platforms, networking, and semiconductors. Our diverse team of technologists have developed a high performance RISC-V CPU from scratch, and share a passion for AI and a deep desire to build the best AI platform possible. We value collaboration, curiosity, and a commitment to solving hard problems. We are growing our team and looking for contributors of all seniorities.

We are seeking an experienced CPU Architect to join our team. The successful candidate will lead the architecture and design of RISC-V CPUs, focusing on validating their performance against specifications. This pivotal role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including design, verification, and physical design, to ensure the device meets required specifications pre- and post-silicon availability. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of CPUs, validation methodologies, and industry trends in performance testing.

This role is Remote, based out of the United States.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and enhance methodologies for pre-silicon and post-silicon validation of high-complexity System-on-Chip (SoC) designs.
  • Collaborate with performance architecture teams to craft a comprehensive performance test plan.
  • Develop techniques to drive performance validation, ensuring product requirements are met.
  • Work closely with architects, hardware engineers, and microcode (ucode) engineers to grasp new feature implementations.
  • Delve into SoC design features to understand their performance impact.
  • Analyze key workloads and identify bottlenecks.
  • Prototype solutions to address performance challenges.
  • Create test plans and functional coverage metrics.
  • Explore opportunities for hardware and software co-optimization to enhance system performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate performance enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain the silicon validation architecture roadmap for new product introductions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define validation requirements and ensure compliance throughout the design process.
  • Design and optimize the silicon validation architecture for maximum performance, power consumption, and area efficiency.
  • Analyze and interpret data to identify trends and areas for improvement in silicon performance.
