Job Description:

Position:

Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Advisor delivers day-to-day support across core HR functions, serving as a first point of contact for employees and managers on routine HR matters. This role develops foundational HR knowledge and judgment under the guidance of senior HR team members, with growing exposure to employee relations, policy application, and HR process ownership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support managers with day-to-day employee relations matters (attendance, performance concerns, minor conduct issues), escalating more sensitive matters as appropriate

  • Assist with the administration of leaves of absence, ensuring compliance with applicable employment standards legislation

  • Conduct exit interviews and surface themes or trends to HR leadership

  • Maintain and update employee data in Workday, including organizational changes, lateral moves, and transfers across business units

  • Participate in HRIS data testing and business processes

  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including required documentation

  • Support benefits administration and respond to employee inquiries, escalating complex matters as needed

  • Draft routine HR correspondence (offer letters, amending letters, general communications) for review and approval

  • Support HR audits and assist with legislative compliance reviews

  • Provide proactive support on HR projects and initiatives as assigned (policy rollouts, engagement surveys, training, ad hoc reporting and analysis)

  • Identify process improvement opportunities and escalate trends or recurring issues to HR leadership

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of HR experience, ideally including time in an HR Coordinator or similar support role

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (CHRP/CHRL designation or in progress an asset)

  • Experience with Workday or a comparable HRIS

  • Working knowledge of employment standards legislation in the relevant jurisdiction(s)

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-priority environment
