POSITION

The Payments Delivery Lead is responsible for ensuring Payments initiatives are executed, delivered, and stabilized successfully once work is committed. This role exists to protect customer trust, revenue integrity, and operational stability across Payments. It owns delivery outcomes in a space where failures are client‑visible, financially sensitive, and escalate quickly. This role owns execution, accountability, and recovery — stepping in wherever Payments work becomes stuck, risky, or escalated. The role acts as the single execution owner for Payments initiatives, coordinating across Engineering, Product, Operations, Finance, Support, Compliance, and external payment partners to ensure work ships, works in production, and is operationally adopted.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own end‑to‑end execution of Payments initiatives from prioritization through delivery, stabilization, and adoption

  • Drive delivery plans, milestones, dependencies, and sequencing across teams

  • Actively unblock Engineering, Operations, Finance, and external partners to keep work moving

  • Escalate risks and trade‑offs early and force decisions when needed

  • Ensure Payments initiatives ship on time and meet defined outcomes

  • Ensure Payments workflows support real‑world operational, financial, and support processes

  • Identify edge cases, failure modes, dependencies, and integration risks early

  • Drive consistency and standardization across payment workflows

  • Reduce manual effort, operational friction, and downstream support issues

  • Serve as the primary point of ownership for Payments delivery across Product, Engineering, Finance, Operations, Support, and Commercial teams

  • Translate strategic priorities and financial insights into executable work

  • Drive alignment across teams with competing priorities

  • Hold teams accountable to commitments and outcomes

  • Act as the primary owner for customer escalations, taking direct control through to resolution

  • Support implementation of payments functionality

  • Monitor payment flows, transactions, and system performance

  • Assist with reconciliation, issue tracking, and operational processes

  • Identify and onboard beta customers for new payment features

  • Act as a primary point of contact for early adopters, guiding clients through setup, configuration, and best practices

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2–5+ years of experience in payments, SaaS, fintech, or operations/program management

  • Strong understanding of credit card processing, payment gateways, and banking integrations

  • Experience working with payment processors, acquiring banks, or fintech platforms

  • Strong project management and organizational skills

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and drive solutions independently

  • Proven experience owning client‑visible issues through resolution

  • Demonstrated comfort operating under pressure with incomplete information

  • Strong track record of driving work across cross‑functional teams

  • Understanding of compliance frameworks (PCI-DSS, NACHA, card brand rules)
