Senior Financial Analyst

The Vertus Group is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst, who will be responsible for managing the financial reporting and forecasting process for one of our US Businesses. In this newly created role, the successful candidate will act as a valued business partner in providing in-depth financial analysis, forecasting and support strategic decision making. They will lead a financial systems integration into our local system. To do so will require detailed process mapping, design of new processes and leading systems integration for billing, and accounting. The successful candidate will not be afraid to get into the details, demonstrate the ability to apply technical accounting concepts, be highly analytical and have excellent communication skills. They will be a strong listener and collaborative individual, who likes to put forward suggestions and ideas on how to improve the status quo. This is a hybrid position, requiring two days a week in our Markham office and may require business travel.

The Salary range for this role is between $80,000-$90,000 a year.

Job Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

• Responsible for full cycle financial accounting leading to a timely and accurate month end close.
• Complete month end Income Statement review with the business management team, documenting variances and required forecast updates.
• Complete quarter end close in a timely and accurate manner including note disclosures.
• Maintain an accurate and well documented account reconciliation workbook, routinely investigating differences.
• Apply IFRS and CSI accounting policies to record new transactions.

Financial Planning and Analysis:

• Complete analysis of various operating metrics and business reports to build a supported forecast.
• Maintain a business model to update the business forecast on a quarterly basis.

• Prepare business analysis to support management decision making.

Systems Integration:

• Document existing financial processes, identifying key controls
• Design new processes, incorporating new financial systems.
• Design and lead the integration plan to transfer existing processes to new financial systems.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting

• CPA Designation
• Minimum 5 years of working experience in an accounting role.
• Public accounting experience in assurance and/or financial reporting within the software industry.
• Advanced knowledge of accounting and IFRS guidance
• In depth experience applying IFRS 15 to significant commercial transactions
• Experience working collaboratively with cross functional teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to interact with all levels of management.
• Excellent administrative and organizational skills with ability to set priorities to meet deadlines.
