Compensation: The expected salary range for this role is between _$105K and __$115K, depending on experience and qualifications.

Overview

The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on accounting expertise, a strong understanding of high-volume transactional businesses, and a passion for process optimization and systems improvement. This individual will manage a team of accounting professionals and partner cross-functionally with Operations, Client Services, and Technology teams.

CORA Loyalty is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting operations within a fast-paced, data-driven loyalty and rewards environment. This role is critical to ensuring accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP, strong internal controls, and scalable processes that support continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations & Close

  • Manage all day-to-day full cycle accounting functions including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, invoicing, treasury, cash applications, general ledger maintenance, intercompany reconciliations, and system reconciliations.

  • Reconcile various accounts and investigate discrepancies when identified and take action to correct these identified discrepancies.

  • Manage and execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.

  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules, including large-volume and complex data reconciliations.

  • Perform and review large-volume, complex reconciliations, including bank, balance sheet, and clearing accounts.

  • Ensure accounting treatment aligns with applicable accounting standards and internal policies.

Revenue, Invoicing & Loyalty Program Accounting

  • Manage invoicing processes related to clients, partners, and vendors typical of a loyalty and rewards business.

  • Manage revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and program liability accounting.

  • Ensure accurate tracking and reconciliation of loyalty transactions, rewards redemptions, and partner settlements.

Treasury & Cash Management

  • Manage daily cash activity, bank reconciliations, and treasury operations.

  • Forecast cash requirements and monitor working capital.

  • Maintain relationships with banking partners and ensure appropriate controls over cash flows.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of direct reports, fostering accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.

  • Allocate workloads, set performance expectations, and conduct regular performance reviews.

  • Build a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Process Improvement & Systems

  • Identify inefficiencies in current accounting processes and design scalable improvements.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to enhance systems, automation, and data flows.

  • Support implementation and optimization of ERP, billing, and reporting tools.

  • Strengthen internal controls and documentation as the organization scales.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Act as a key finance partner to Operations, Sales, and Technology teams.

  • Support internal and external audits and respond to audit requests.

  • Assist with tax filings and regulatory requirements.

  • Prepare and analyze financial analysis and reporting to support management decision-making.

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) required.

  • Progressive accounting experience within a mid-to-large organization.

Experience Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2–3 years in a people-management role.

  • Strong hands-on experience with:

    • Day-to-day accounting operations

    • Invoicing, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable

    • Month-end close and reconciliations

    • High-volume transactional and data-intensive environments

    • Large-scale reconciliations

    • Treasury and cash management

  • Experience in loyalty, rewards, or technology-enabled services is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrated experience improving accounting processes and implementing system enhancements.

  • Experience in Microsoft Great Plains, QuickBooks, and Office 365 is a plus.
