Expected Salary Range: The expected base salary range for this role is between $60,000 - $65,000 CAD, depending on experience and qualifications

The Position:
As a Business Development Associate at Jonas Software, you will play a crucial role in sourcing and developing our acquisition pipeline— you will conduct industry and target research, build new relationships with potential acquisition targets using multiple outreach methods (including phone calls, email marketing, LinkedIn, and trade show attendance), and nurture relationships with existing targets over time. You will report to the Director of Business Development and work closely with the portfolio’s senior management team.
You will be successful in this role if you are a people-person, have solid business acumen, love to continuously learn, and have a passion for creating and maintaining relationships. Financial literacy and an understanding of software and technology businesses are considered assets.
What your impact will be:
Identify, research, and map software markets to find attractive acquisition targets
Develop and execute outreach campaigns through email, outbound calling, and in-person meetings, while effectively communicating our M&A value propositions
Maintain relationships with our existing network of acquisition targets through frequent telephone calls and e-mails
Clearly communicate the investment strategy, ensuring the investment process is handled with care and professionalism
Continuously research new industries, sub-sectors, and trends to spot emerging opportunities and provide value to the targets you engage with
Track all interactions, data, and insights in Salesforce, maintaining a disciplined approach to CRM hygiene
Analyze outreach performance and iterate on campaigns to improve engagement rates
Coordinate with the M&A Execution team to advance qualified opportunities through diligence and deal execution

Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or M&A sourcing.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a personable, professional phone manner.
Demonstrated ability to conduct research, develop prospect lists, and generate actionable insights.
Proficiency in Salesforce, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Outreach.io, or Apollo is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree with strong academic performance. MBA or graduate education is a plus but not required.
