Job Profile (Location – Toronto, Remote):
We are currently hiring a Junior Assoicate for our M&A execution team. As a Junior Associate, you will work with and report to the Senior Director, M&A who leads acquisitions for CORA Group, you will have an opportunity to drive all stages of the M&A process, including:
Working closely with our business development team and Portfolio Managers to evaluate the quality of vertical-market software acquisition prospects;
Engaging with acquisition targets’ shareholders, executives and financial advisors, while maintaining the confidentiality, integrity and professionalism;
Organizing, analyzing and presenting preliminary information received from potential acquisition targets;
Developing high level and complex valuation models;
Conducting financial and operational due diligence, and project managing due diligence activities of cross functional teams, including human resources, research and development, tax and legal departments;
Preparing investment memorandums, discussing the investment thesis and plan for the business post-closing with internal senior executives at CORA Group
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess 3-5 years of experience working in consulting, private equity, investment banking or other similar experience;
Excellent academic performance in a business, finance, economics, or accounting-related degree;
Strong Excel skills and proficiency in building financial models, and capable of translating raw data into thoughtful analysis and concise presentations that will be delivered to senior executives;
High quality decision making and problem solving skills, with the ability to grasp new and complex concepts quickly, while dealing with ambiguity and imperfect data;
Strong time management skills and ability to multi-task between various on-going responsibilities to meet established deadlines;
Strong integrity and trustworthiness;
Have a deep passion and interest in investing;
Advanced verbal and written communication skills with the confidence and polish to speak with business owners, senior executives and external professional advisors; and
A strong understanding of technology and the software industry is an asset.
