Product Owner - Event Management

Job Description:
Product Owner – Event Management
Overview
We’re looking for a Product Owner to lead our Events product within the Private Member Club ecosystem. This role focuses on everything from Club-hosted events (e.g., Members-only 4th of July celebrations) to Member/Guest-hosted events (birthdays, weddings) and banquets. Your mandate: ensure our software delivers flawless planning and execution with accurate Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), seamless online registration, tight coordination with F&B and Reservations, and clear communication for staff and members.
You’ll source and synthesize Voice of the Customer (VOC), conduct market research on best-of-breed event technologies, and translate those insights into a modern, club-specific product vision with clear milestones and success metrics. Our bar is high: we build tools that uphold the service standards of elite private clubs.
Responsibilities
Voice of the Customer & Market Insight
- Build trusted relationships with Events Directors, Catering/Banquet Managers, and Member Services to map real workflows end-to-end.
- Run structured VOC programs (interviews, site visits, call-shadowing, feedback loops) to capture needs around inquiries > proposals > contracts > BEOs > execution > billing.
- Conduct competitive and comparative research on event tech to identify must-have features and modern UX patterns, then adapt them to the unique nuances of private clubs (member preferences, house rules, minimums, service standards, charge routing).
Product Strategy & Vision
- Define a clear Events product vision and multi-release roadmap covering:
- Accurate BEO creation & change control, version history, approvals
- Online registration & waitlists (member eligibility, pricing rules, guest policies)
- Proposals, contracts, deposits, and integrations to AR/Finance
- Room/space management, equipment, staffing, and setup/teardown timelines
- F&B coordination (menus, modifiers, dietary needs) and day-of execution tools
- Set measurable outcomes: BEO accuracy %, registration conversion, on-time BEO finalization, no-show reduction, NPS/CSAT, and adoption metrics.
Execution & Delivery
- Own and prioritize the Events backlog; write crisp epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria that reflect real operational edge cases.
- Partner with Engineering, Design, and QA to ship high-quality features with predictable cadence; ensure test plans mirror real banquet and member-event scenarios.
- Coordinate cross-product dependencies (F&B, Finance, Reservations, Websites/Mobile) so the end-to-end experience is seamless.
- Validate with customers via prototypes, betas, and controlled rollouts; close the loop with data and feedback.
Go-to-Market & Stakeholder Enablement
- Work with Customer Success, Training, and Support to prepare playbooks, BEO templates, and “day-of” checklists.
- Partner with Marketing and Sales on messaging that reflects true operational value (accuracy, speed, guest experience, staff confidence).
- Maintain transparent roadmap communications and change logs for internal teams and lighthouse clubs.
Qualifications
- Experience in event management, catering/banquets, or private clubs (highly preferred), plus 2–5 years in a Product Owner/Manager/Analyst role.
- Proven ability to translate complex event workflows into clear requirements and intuitive software.
- Strong grasp of UI/UX for multi-step workflows (inquiry > booking > BEO > execution > billing).
- Evidence-based decision-maker with excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to diverse stakeholders.
- Skilled at prioritization and trade-offs; can say “no” thoughtfully, explain why, and keep teams aligned.
- Collaborative partner to designers and engineers; calm under pressure and steady during live-event timelines.
