Position Summary

The Cloud Operations Manager serves as EZFacility’s primary leader for cloud infrastructure, security, and compliance operations. Acting as the organization’s de facto Security Officer, this role oversees the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of our systems and data while ensuring adherence to all relevant industry standards and regulatory frameworks, including PCI DSS. The ideal candidate combines strategic vision with practical expertise in AWS architecture, DevOps automation, and security governance. In addition to managing cloud operations, this role provides oversight for internal IT functions—ensuring alignment with organizational policies and compliance standards rather than hands-on IT administration.

- Manage cloud performance, cost optimization, and capacity planning.

- Coordinate access control and enforce least-privilege principles.

- Provide architectural guidance and proofs of concept (PoCs) for the development team.

Security & Compliance

- Lead and maintain PCI DSS compliance, including policies, integrations, audits, and coordination with development and operations teams.

DevOps & Automation

- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines for software and infrastructure deployments.

- Champion Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to improve reliability and consistency.

- Provide strategic direction for deployment automation, environment management, and release processes.

- Manage and optimize Azure DevOps usage, ensuring best practices across teams.

IT Oversight & Governance

- Provide strategic oversight for IT systems and policies, ensuring alignment with security and compliance standards.

- Define IT governance, onboarding/offboarding procedures, and technology lifecycle standards.

- Collaborate with IT staff or managed service providers to ensure operational excellence and adherence to organizational policies.

- Support budgeting, vendor management, and technology roadmap planning for IT and cloud infrastructure.

Database & Application Support

- Collaborate with DBAs to ensure optimal system performance, availability, and resilience.

- Assist in diagnosing complex infrastructure or database-related issues when escalated.

- Help set database strategy and policy, working closely with application and infrastructure teams.

- Provide technical leadership for secure and efficient data architecture within the cloud environment.

Qualifications

- Proven experience with PCI DSS compliance.

- Hands-on experience managing and architecting AWS environments (security, cost, automation, scaling).

- Strong knowledge of Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).

- Familiarity with GDPR, HECVAT, and modern data privacy frameworks.

- Understanding of SSL/TLS, DNS, WAF, and cloud networking fundamentals.

- Excellent collaboration and communication skills across technical and executive teams.

- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities with cross-functional teams.

- Preferred certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent experience.

Nice to Have

- Experience with CrowdStrike or other enterprise security platforms.

- Familiarity with ITIL, NIST, or other structured IT governance frameworks.

- Experience in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, education, SaaS).
