Senior Technical Content Marketing Manager

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Technical Content Marketing Manager to build and scale Tailscale’s content engine. This role will be responsible for managing the editorial calendar, authoring technical content, and partnering with Product Marketing, Lifecycle Marketing, Growth/Demand Gen, and Sales to deliver the right content across the customer journey.

The ideal candidate for this role is a strategic and creative thinker who enjoys connecting with technical audiences. This role might be perfect for you if you have the ability to take technical concepts and create compelling narratives around them, while partnering with stakeholders across the org to think, plan, and execute of new ways to extend the reach of your content and capture your audience wherever they are.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Develop and manage Tailscale’s content strategy, providing recommendations for the type of content required at various stages of the customer journey

• Use performance insights alongside competitive and market analysis to inform the content strategy

• Manage the editorial calendar including scheduling, publishing, and distributing content accordingly

• Author various forms of technical content including blog posts, landing pages, newsletters, tutorials, social posts, emails, ad copy, etc

• Monitor content performance and make adjustments where necessary, with particular attention to organic growth

• Conduct content audits, identify gaps, refresh existing content to improve performance and reflect product updates, and archive low-performing assets

• Define the editorial tone of voice and ensure consistency across all materials

• Hire, onboard, and manage content freelancers as needed

Qualifications and Skills:

• 7+ years of technical content marketing experience

• A deep understanding of the developer, IT, and DevOps personas and technical audiences

• A high attention to detail and an eye for editorial accuracy

• Repurposed content and are comfortable with various distribution channels

• Experience in SEO, keyword research, and optimization

• An analytical mind with an enthusiasm for problem-solving and measuring the effectiveness of your work

• The ability to concept, create, and scale processes with lots of autonomy

It’s nice if you have:

• An affinity for complex, highly technical subjects

• Experience with creating (0-1) and scaling platforms and processes
