The Role: AI Engineer

We are seeking an experienced AI Engineer with deep experience designing, building, and operating agentic AI systems in real-world, regulated environments. In this role, you will design, develop, and deploy advanced AI solutions that demonstrate autonomous, goal-oriented behavior. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate rule-based logic, statistical models, and large language models into robust, scalable applications.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, collaborative consulting environments, enjoys taking ownership of complex problems, and can balance innovation with reliability. You’ll have real influence over architecture, tooling, and best practices as our AI capabilities continue to grow.

What You’ll Do

End-to-End Engineering

• Design & Development: Architect and build agentic AI systems with autonomous decision-making and adaptability.
• Programming & Scripting: Develop and maintain scalable, efficient Python code integrated with AI components.
• Data Management: Use SQL for data querying, transformation, and integration with AI systems.
• Language Models: Implement and fine-tune LLMs and SLMs for natural language understanding and generation.
• Rule-Based & Statistical Modeling: Integrate rule-based systems and statistical models to enhance decision-making.
• Orchestration & Deployment: Deploy, monitor, and evolve distributed AI systems in production.
• API Development: Design, develop, test, and document APIs for external integrations and data exports.
• Cloud & AI Infrastructure: Work with AWS services such as SageMaker and Bedrock to deploy and scale AI workloads.

Technical Leadership

• Technical Expertise: Deep proficiency in Python, SQL, system design, orchestration, and AI frameworks.
• Innovation: Actively identify areas for innovation and drive adoption of modern AI/ML approaches.
• Agent-Based Frameworks: Experience with autonomous agents and tools like LangChain and LangGraph.
• Security & Compliance: Ensure systems meet performance, security, and regulatory standards expected in financial services environments.

Client & Project Exposure

• Embedded Collaboration: Work directly with client engineers, product managers, and data teams throughout the full delivery lifecycle.
• Problem-Solving: Tackle complex engineering and AI challenges with creativity and analytical thinking.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative, proactive mindset.
• Project Engagement: Comfortable contributing across the full lifecycle of client-facing AI initiatives.

What You Bring

Must-Have Experience

• 7+ years of experience building, deploying, and operating production AI/ML systems
• Advanced Python experience in developing AI applications and automation scripts
• Strong SQL proficiency in data manipulation and querying
• Hands-on implementation and fine-tuning of large and small language models (LLMs/SLMs)
• Integration of rule-based systems and statistical models within broader AI frameworks
• Management and orchestration of distributed systems and services
• Design, development, and maintenance of production-grade APIs

Bonus Points For

• Prior work in finance, trading, or other regulated/high-performance environments
• Strong documentation, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing mindset
• Familiarity with Databricks or large-scale data platforms
