The Opportunity

As a Business Development Rep (BDR) you will assist the Symend Sales & Marketing teams through initial research and lead generation. Your primary objective is to set up introductory meetings via inbound and outbound prospecting with companies interested in Symend’s Conscious Engagement solution.

What You'll Do:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Account level research - account info, contact info, etc...
  • Contacting and qualifying leads through email / LinkedIn / phone
  • Scheduling meetings and follow-ups
  • Documentation of all activities in required platforms (Salesforce, Gong, etc.)
  • Being the first point of contact and educating leads to help generate increased interest that lead to a hand off to our Account Executives to close
  • Manage your own pipeline of opportunities
  • Anticipating needs and concerns of potential clients and maintaining a knowledge of problems and issues that they are facing in their work
  • Other sales and business development type activities as assigned

What You'll Need:


  • BA in Marketing, Business or Communications


  • Previous experience with lead generation and cold calling, would be an asset
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM would be considered an asset

Key Competencies and Skills:

  • Highly motivated, passionate and able to keep a positive attitude
  • Comfortable with initiating contact in cold call scenarios, as well as in-person such as at a tradeshow
  • Experience articulating value propositions via phone and email
  • Able to identify and qualify sales opportunities
  • Capable of understanding customer pain points, requirements and correlating potential business value that can be provided by Symend
  • Strong and professional communication skills -- written, verbal, presentation
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a geographically dispersed sales and marketing team
