The Senior Delivery Engineer will support the Director, Delivery Engineering, working closely with clients, both internal & external, to understand not only what they want but what they need, helping them to solve some big and interesting problems. Using cutting edge technologies, this position has the freedom to fully leverage the AWS Platform to implement data pipelines and other processes that will enable the most scalable industry solution on the market.

What You'll Do

• Provide thought leadership and guidance around new data patterns and processes.
• Willing to challenge the status quo with the goal of improving, streamlining and simplifying how we’ve done things in the past.
• Design, program and test data pipeline architecture
• Design and perform integration development work and assist with data migration
• Develop and refine data models from prototypes to confirm requirements
• Being a real data geek; digging through data to find interesting insights, providing architecture direction and optimizations
• Assemble large, complex data solutions that meet functional / non-function business requirements
• Create and contribute to data patterns for analytics and data science team members that assist in building and optimizing product features and delivery
• Author and maintain relevant documentation for engineers, clients and users
• Lead and plan sprints
• Mentor data engineers in good techniques, patterns, processes and practices
• Peer review other team members’ code

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years of working on data solutions with preference given to those who have a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent certificate program
• Strong working knowledge of SQL & Python
• Experience with RDS and NoSQL databases – Amazon Redshift / PostgreSQL, MongoDB/ DocumentDB
• Experience with cloud platforms and data pipelines in AWS
• Understand containerization and deployment across systems with Docker & Linux
• Experience working with REST APIs, flat files (csv and Excel)
• Experience working on iterative projects with continuous delivery pipelines
• Experience building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures and data sets
• Strong communication skills to contribute working in a team environment with both
  technical and non-technical audiences
• Relevant experience with cloud Infrastructure as code (terraform, cloudformation, etc.)
• Knowledge of good SDLC practices and process, including git and CI\CD
• (bonus) Data migration and performance tuning
• (bonus) Experience building data products or part of a product-led data team
• (bonus) Experience working in a startup / SaaS company
• (bonus) Experience breaking down user problems into stories and solutioning

You are a superb communicator, able to gain understanding from both technical and non-technical audiences, and pride yourself on your interpersonal and relationship management skills.
