The role:
We are looking for an exceptionally driven individual to help our team take things to the next level!
In this role, you will be leading the people operations policies and procedures, helping to develop and grow our team while also driving our culture and ensuring adherence to our core values. The successful candidate will bring excellent communication skills and leadership potential, and will act as a business partner to our management team to ensure their needs are supported.
The Team:
- Statflo’s Operations team builds the foundation that the rest of the company operates on and works collaboratively with all teams.
- This role will report to the Chief of Staff with a dotted line to the VP of Finance.
Job Duties:
- Drive and improve performance reviews process and follow-up on process.
- Help management to define learning paths for each department.
- Be the trusted advisor, providing expert advice, guidance and coaching to managers in all aspects of HR including employee relations, employment equity, salary administration, job description and evaluation, performance appraisal, performance management and attendance management.
- Maintain, execute in and improve the HR technology stack at Statflo, including BambooHR, Lattice, Confluence and any other pertinent tools.
- Ensures legal compliance to the Employee Standards Act of Ontario, the Canada Labour Code, Ontario Health & Safety, and other regulations and best practices.
- Assist in interpretation and provide advice and counsel to employees and managers on company policies, practices and procedures.
- Recommend appropriate level of discipline based on company policy and support the management team in investigations and implementation of correctives actions.
- Ensures that Statflo's Health and Safety Committee are up to date and meeting regularly.
- Work in collaboration with management to ensure Statflo is meeting all company policies and procedures in regards to Health and Safety.
- Help management administer time off at Statflo including vacation time, sick days, maternity and paternity leave.
Requirements:
- Possess strong facilitation, negotiation and conflict resolution skills (high EQ).
- Have experience in providing presentations and training programs
- Strong organizational skills
- Takes initiative
- Have a proven, demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in HR/People Ops (if you don't have direct experience, that's okay! Help us understand why you'd still be a great person for the role. We believe potential and intensity beat experience!)
Bonus points if you:
- Are working toward CHRP designation
- Have a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field
- Have experience working within an SMB professional environment.
- Have experience with Federal Labour Regulations and Standards
- Have knowledge of the Canada Labour Code, Human Rights Acts and Employment Equity reporting requirements.
