The Accounting Lead, Revenue specializing in enterprise revenue is responsible for overseeing and managing the accounting processes related to this intricate revenue stream within the organization. This role involves analyzing, monitoring, and reporting on revenue generated from our new custom pricing model, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial operations. The incumbent will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement the necessary processes to account for this new revenue stream, while optomizing revenue recognition, mitigating risks, and enhancing financial performance. The ideal candidate possesses an understanding of accounting principles surrounding revenue recognition, have experience with process design and implementation, and the ability to take initiative. StackAdapt is a Remote First company, we are open to candidates located anywhere in Canada willing to work within EST time zone for this position.

What you'll be doing

  • Partner with legal, business operations, and sales functions to design and deploy the enterprise revenue strategy in partnership with senior leadership.
  • Review new master service agreements associated with the new enterprise revenue, including liaison with legal and sales staff.
  • Track new and existing enterprise revenue contracts, including looking back on spend, platform fee change requests, annual true-ups in compliance with MSA terms, and calculation of rewards and cash rebates.
  • Record and report the financial impact associated with enterprise revenue contracts, including monthly journal entries and reconciliations, working with our Financial Reporting team to ensure compliance with US GAAP, and revenue and expense tracking, leveraging this insight to drive strategic business decisions.
  • Develop enterprise accounting function, growing a team to support as business need requires.
  • Transaction initiation and management, including liaison with the accounts receivable team to ensure timely invoicing and credit distribution to customers, and liaison with the accounts payable team to ensure timely payout of cash rebates in line with MSA terms.
  • Collaborate with controllership and other finance teams to support in overall financial management, including tax, internal audit, FP&A and reporting initiatives.
  • Contribute to and encourage a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Assist internal and external audit processes by providing documentation, explanations, and analysis.
  • Conduct a comprehensive post-implementation review to assess effectiveness of new procedures, identifying areas of improvement, automation, and providing continuous cross-functional support on new operational and financial issues.
  • Support with ad hoc projects as part of the continuous growth and improvement of StackAdapt.

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and CPA designation
  • Proven experience in a Manager accounting role for a publicly traded company or Big 4 experience is a nice to have
  • Built and implemented Revenue pricing strategy in partnerships cross functionally
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, revenue recognition standards (e.g., ASC 606), and financial reporting requirements
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, modelling, and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems)
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate insights effectively
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and process improvement
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment and effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic setting across all levels of an organization
