We are looking for a dedicated, ambitious individual to join our team as Procurement Specialist, IT & Operations. The candidate will join a growing Procurement team to negotiate software, professional services, and supplier agreements, analyze different pricing models, and execute right-sized vendor agreements based on projected ROI and spend forecasts. This role will coordinate sourcing and purchase requests originating from cross-functional depts and will partner with IT, Finance, FP&A, Accounts Payable, Legal, and InfoSec to ensure proper vendor and contract reviews are performed in a timely manner. This role will also assist in benchmarking, reporting and analyses of upcoming renewals and assess redundant spend opportunities.

What you'll be doing:

  • Negotiate with vendors to assess various pricing models and execute agreements with favorable terms and discounts without compromising quality or service levels
  • Participate in RFPs with internal stakeholders to identify and understand requirements and ensure depts perform proper business case/ROI analyses for vendor evaluations
  • Build and maintain vendor/contractor relationships with the objectives of eliminating inefficiencies, reducing total costs, and increasing productivity
  • Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history
  • Conduct comprehensive cost analysis, incorporating Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) methodologies to assess supplier pricing and total cost impact to the Business
  • Serves as key contact for internal stakeholders in their area of responsibility while building effective relationships of mutual trust and understanding
  • Partner with Legal and Security to ensure terms are compliant with legal, regulatory, data security, and privacy requirements
  • Uphold standards for purchase agreements, POs, and approval procedures
  • Utilize ZIP for all P2P related tasks such as new purchases, renewals, contract management, vendor onboarding, and purchase order creation
  • Maintain and monitor data regarding contract renewals, open purchase obligations and future commitments
  • Assist in driving and identifying potential cost savings and track cost savings

What you'll bring to the table:

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in IT procurement with direct, hands-on experience managing and executing sourcing and contracting activities for hardware, software, and professional services
  • Experience and understanding of SaaS, PaaS, software and hardware market, IT Services agreements, 3rd-party solutions providers and technology partners
  • Strong knowledge of IT Supplier base and expert level in negotiating IT contracts
  • Vendor management skills to build solid relationships and hold vendors accountable
  • P2P lifecycle knowledge: contract management, RFPs and procurement best practices
  • Strong organizational and communication skills in order to partner internal and external stakeholder to execute multiple on-going contract negotiations of varying sizes
  • Ability to seamlessly work with and across multiple stakeholders and depts in a high-growth, fast-paced start-up environment
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work across multiple deadlines
  • Analytical thinker and problem solver with troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to understand and interpret contractual terms in agreements
  • Detail-oriented and excellent written communication skills, including ability to prepare accurate documentation, review and proofread for accuracy
  • Experience using Saas procure-to-pay system (Zip experience is ideal, but not required)
