Engineering Team:
As an Engineer at StackAdapt, you will be directly involved in the development of our advertising platform, producing production level code that will have a direct impact on the success of our product. You will work with large data sets and have exposure to modern tech stacks around GoLang and more. StackAdapt's engineering organization believes in working collaboratively and cross functionally. About the Backend Team:
The backend teams at StackAdapt are responsible for engineering data intensive large distributed backend systems powering core features including bidding, analytics, inventory, integrations, and user profiling. Our real-time advertising bidding system handles over 3,000,000 requests per second and stores several terabytes of data every day. Our technologies include Go, Ruby on Rails, Aerospike, Redis, Elasticsearch, Kafka, RocksDB, Redshift, ScyllaDB, GraphQL and others. We're not afraid to test and try new technologies.

StackAdapt is a Remote First company, we are open to candidates located anywhere in Canada for this position.
What you'll be doing:
- Building highly scalable, distributed real-time micro-services primarily written in Go.
- Working with large data sets and various databases including Aerospike, Elasticsearch, Redis, ScyllaDB, Redshift, TiDB, MariaDB.
- Build software that utilize messaging queues such as Kafka, SQS, and Kinesis.
- Write performance efficient and memory optimized code.
We'll be reaching out to candidates that have:
- Contribute to technical planning and architectural decision-making.
- Collaborating with team members on designing complex, scalable, well tested, and well documented Backend software.
- Ability to take responsibility and ownership of projects.
- Contribute to code reviews and cross-team collaboration with product managers and designers.
- Write extensible scalable and test-driven software, either in teams or individually depending on the scope of the project.
- Working with a designated mentor throughout the internship for technical and career growth direction.
- Having experience with SQL-based databases and writing complex queries for reporting purposes.
- Building highly scalable, distributed real-time micro-services primarily written in Go.
