SPARK Microsystems is looking for a motivated Senior RF/Analog IC Designer, you will be working on the next generation wireless ASICs and SoCs that are used in range of SPARK Microsystems products such as mice, audio headsets, speakers, proximity detection, ranging and the IoT. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, simulation, verification, and documentation of RF and analog blocks in CMOS technologies to meet stringent performance and product requirements. You will collaborate closely with technical teams to define and refine block-level specifications and ensure that designs are optimized for functionality, performance, manufacturability, and testability. From early development through to productization, you will support lab validation, debug issues, and participate in improving methodologies, flows, and toolchains. This position reports to the Director of ASIC Development.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Design of RF and analog blocks in CMOS technologies.
  • Establish detailed RF and analog block designs, sub-assembly and top-level specifications to fulfil the product requirements.
  • Produce technical documentation (schematics, layout, simulation result, etc.) including technical reports
  • Simulate and verify designs of RF and analog block, sub-assembly and top-level to ensure a successful tape-out.
  • Support the testing and debugging of issue in the lab that may arise from early development stages through productization including doing lab testing (validation).
  • Work with the production teams through the development phase and optimizing the designs for increased manufacturing efficiency.
  • Work with ASIC radio architect and system group to define RF and analog blocks, sub-assembly requirement and specification based on the system/product requirements.
  • Work with the technical team to understand the capabilities and limits of the technology node to achieve the optimum performance.
  • Participate with the analog team to an RF/Analog ASIC on compliance matrix to document the signoff results compared to the specification.
  • Perform technical design reviews with the RF/Analog ASIC team.
  • Assist in the feasibility of various designs in support of architecture definition.
  • Assist in the high-level ASIC Product Requirement Definition (PRD).
  • Assist in the RF/Analog design flows, methodologies, and toolchain improvements to enhance design efficiency and quality.
  • Assist in the DFT and ATE to enhance testability, quality and reliability of the RF and analog design.
  • Help the Analog technical lead for the mentorship of junior engineers.

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (M.Eng. preferred).
  • 10+ years of RF integrated circuit design experience.
  • Experience in designing RF and analog circuits like amplifiers, comparators, mixer, filter, PLL, ADCs, along with understanding of mixed-signal design considerations.
  • Lab experience with common lab equipment, including protocol/logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer, etc. for debugging and validating RF integrated circuit.
  • Experience in Cadence or Synopsys analog design flow.
  • Tenacity and propensity to do what it takes to deliver results and meet delivery dates.
