SPARK Microsystems is looking for a Junior Technician in Electrical Engineering Technology (or similar) who recently graduated, to conduct validation testing of our revolutionary wireless technology on various embedded products.

Reporting to the Validation Director, you will work with practical solutions, such as computer mice, headsets, speakers and IoT products, that use our innovative UWB radio chips. You will work closely with the firmware, hardware, application and ASIC teams, in an Agile Scrum environment.

Your Responsibilities

  • Participate in writing detailed test plans and reports, including specifications and pass/fail criteria for the tests of products/projects.
  • Plan and run tests on various embedded products (mice, headsets, EVKs, IoT devices) to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
  • Perform various manual and automated validation tests, such as radio frequency tests, functional tests, regression, robustness, interference and environmental.
  • Make measurements with test equipment, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers, using appropriate test procedures to verify and resolve electrical, mechanical or firmware problems.
  • Report and document non-conformities, follow up and participate in their resolution in support of the teams involved.
  • Use appropriate test equipment and procedures to verify and resolve electrical, mechanical, or firmware issues.
  • With the people involved, participate in the ongoing effort for test automation.
  • Give assistance with the execution of tests and for the packaging of products that would be shipped to external customers.
  • Any other relevant tasks.

Your Qualifications

  • DEC in electrical or electronic engineering technology, or in a related field.
  • Basic knowledge and experience in performing RF tests, and in system testing with hardware and embedded software.
  • Familiarity with a laboratory test environment using oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, etc.
  • Good sense of judgment in analyzing the performance of the products under test.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to following well-accepted standards when preparing documentation.
  • Motivated and willing to work and learn in a fast-paced environment focused on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Adhere and contribute to the continuous improvement of the verification and validation process.

  • Knowledge and experience with antenna testing.
  • Knowledge and experience writing test automation scripts with Python programming language.
