We are hiring a new Intermediate Proposal Writer to join our Proposals team!

As a Proposal Writer, your responsibilities are:
  • Enhance the company's ability to secure new business through compelling proposals.
  • Work with partners to develop proposals that take into account joint solutions.
  • Collaborate with various departments to deliver cohesive and strategic proposals.
  • To project manage a proposal through the proposal writing and interview processes.

Our Spare HQ is in Vancouver, BC, but this position is open to remote work options across Canada. If you like coming into an office, you can work from our HQ as desired, and we also provide a co-working stipend for those who wish to work in an office outside Vancouver.

The salary provided is the base salary, while the total remuneration for this job also involves a variable commission and equity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proposal Development and Management:
    • Research, write, and edit proposals, ensuring factual accuracy and alignment with company tone
    • Deliver proposals as a bid prime or supporting a partner by subcontracting.

  • Content Strategy and Collaboration:
    • Develop winning content narratives, collaborating with product marketing

  • Project Coordination and Strategy:
    • Manage multiple proposal projects, run proposal kick-off meetings, deliver proposals, and project manage through the interview stage.

About you

  • Experience writing B2G proposals for both Canada and the USA (ideally at 100k+ ARR)
  • Experience in a start-up or scale-up SaaS company
  • Excellent project/proposal management skills
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)

It will be considered a plus:
  • Experience with proposal writing for transit technology
  • Experience project managing proposals from end to end (from proposal delivery through the interview stage)
