Sonder is looking for a Director of Accounting (Finance Transformation) who has a positive attitude and is highly motivated to learn and grow within the organization and proven ability to thrive successfully in a fast-paced multi-task-oriented environment. This is a critical and high-profile position that will play a critical role in partnering and defining how Sonder transacts existing and new revenue streams to optimize efficiency and profit, while ensuring compliance with US GAAP. This role will report to the VP, Corporate Controller.

The Opportunity:

• Lead and manage multiple finance transformation projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines

• Develop and implement project plans, manage budgets, and monitor progress to ensure successful project delivery

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders to identify and address challenges and risks

• Provide regular updates on project status, milestones, and outcomes to senior leadership.

• Ensure adherence to best practices, industry standards, and compliance requirements in all aspects of the projects

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the finance transformation process

Who We Look For:

• Proven experience managing large-scale finance transformation projects

• CPA Preferred

• Strong technical accounting background with a thorough knowledge of US GAAP and SOX 404 standards, as well as experience with technical research

• Total experience of minimum of 12 years and BS/BA degree in Finance or Accounting, Big Four accounting preferred

• Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels

• Experience working with finance systems and processes; familiarity with Opera

• A proactive approach to problem identification and remediation solutions, and excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interact and build relationships across all levels of the organization

• Ability to work independently, complete work timely, and work well as a team member

• Strong organization and problem-solving skills

• Ability to be flexible and work analytically in a problem-solving environment

• Meticulous and superior attention to detail
