The Supply Chain Logistics Specialist at Sonder is responsible for ensuring the speed and quality of our supply chain globally as we continue on our mission to build the future of hospitality. Our Supply Chain team is responsible for filling our Sonder units with just about all of the items required to meet the needs of our guests - this includes furniture, fixtures, art, and other accessories you would find in a living space.

We are looking for a highly organized, driven, and detail-oriented individual who can manage overlapping projects, keep track of deadlines and efficiently use their time. You will work closely with internal Sonder teams, external partners, and logistics providers to manage domestic and international freight (vendor relationships, pricing, SLAs, contracts, etc.). You will also assist with warehouse management, improving operational processes, monitoring KPIs, and ensuring timely and successful property launches.


Candidates must have strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaborative skills while also possessing a strong desire to excel and lead in a fast-paced, challenging, and guest-focused environment.

The Opportunity:

  • Manage and own relationships with freight/transportation partners (ocean, trucking, domestic + international)

  • Create, monitor, and measure freight performance and SLAs

  • Design and implement strategies to reduce cost/increase efficiency

  • Optimize processes and manage carriers with the goal of moving goods faster for less

  • Coordinate freight movements between our distribution center(s) and city markets to support property launches, refreshes, and replacements

  • Ensure consistent and timely warehousing activities

  • Process and coordinate customs documentation

  • Monitor and seek to continuously improve upon logistics and order life-cycle-related performance metrics

  • Perform QA checks with our distribution partners

  • Support cross-functional teams if/when they are impacted by logistics-related issues

  • Work to manage and streamline efficiencies between our centralized distribution center and market third-party logistics providers

  • Identify and report systems issues and bugs to developers and product teams

  • Identify exceptions and propose solutions with project stakeholders throughout the fulfillment lifecycle

Who We Look For:

  • Bachelor’s degree (in a related field preferred but not required)

  • 4+ years of experience in freight, operations, logistics, supply chain, 3PL/warehousing, consulting, and project management.

  • Ability to deal with ambiguous tasks and independent projects -this role demands a candidate who can actively contribute to building systems and processes, instead of relying on predefined assignments. Incredibly hard-working, roll-up-your-sleeves mindset, and willing to do what it takes for us to reach our goals

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to think on your feet

  • Very comfortable with Google Sheets

  • Experience operating TMS, WMS.

  • Experience with freight carriers and transportation management

  • Experience with freight and small parcel shipping

  • Experience with international shipping, customs, documents,

  • Experience with Tableau

  • Experience with Metabase

  • Basic SQL

  • Travel required (< 25%)
