We are looking for a highly motivated Revenue Accounting Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Senior Manager Revenue Accounting, you will play a critical role in building a world class Revenue Accounting function to help scale Sonder’s rapidly growing business as we progress towards an IPO. You will partner with FinOps, Sales, Engineering, and Product teams to identify process inefficiencies and implement remediation to strengthen the control environment and develop best-in-class process through the use of system automation and relevant tools.

The Opportunity:

• Develop & maintain Sonder’s revenue recognition policies and procedures under ASC 606

• Development and execution of monthly revenue close procedures, ensuring accurate results are delivered on time for reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP (and IFRS, as applicable)

• Work cross functionally across the company to develop system flows and integrations for the order to cash process, with a focus on revenue recognition data

• Help lead the implementation of best practices for revenue accounting to scale the team with the growth of the business and revenue streams

• Prepare and review materials for internal and external reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis

• Lead the annual financial statement audit for Revenue, Cost of Revenue and Balance Sheet related reconciliations.

• Support deal negotiations by providing input on transaction structures to align contract terms and business objectives, as well as reviewing significant revenue related agreements to guide the appropriate accounting

• Develop the Revenue Accounting team, and support their growth and professional development

Who We Look For:

• BA/BS degree in Finance or Accounting. CPA required.

• 6+ years of progressive Revenue Accounting experience; ideally a combination of public accounting (Big 4 or regional equivalent) and industry experience

• Demonstrated knowledge of order to cash (OTC) cycle

• Thorough understanding of and ability to apply ASC 606 and IFRS 15

• Advanced Excel skills (index match, power query etc.); SQL experience preferred

• Strong communication, interpersonal, team building and organizational skills

• Ability to work collaboratively with people at all levels of the organization and make actionable recommendations

• Ability to work with teams across different time zones

• Flexibility to work under time constraints and deadlines

• Experience with Netsuite a plus
