Our B2B software manages the movement of construction materials across projects (think highways, housing, and subway tunnels) by replacing outdated, paper-based processes with intuitive digital solutions.
Since launching in 2019, we’ve become Canada’s market leader and are now expanding internationally (USA & UK) to meet growing demand.
As part of this growth, we are in search of a leader to build the foundation of our company and product marketing.

The Opportunity
This role is high-impact. You will play a key part in making SoilFLO a category leader both locally and internationally.
As the first official marketing hire, you will be responsible for shaping the marketing strategy and department.
In the next 1-2 years, we expect the hire to focus their efforts on a combination of:
- Product Marketing: refining our messaging, positioning, sales enablement materials, and feature launches
- Growth Marketing: working with our marketing agency to generate new leads through various marketing channels (online ads, SEO, tradeshows)
- Content Marketing: developing content to expand our reach (email campaigns, blogs, social)
In the longer term (2+ years), we expect you to evolve into our Marketing Director. You will be responsible for hiring marketers into SoilFLO while overseeing larger campaigns and budgets.

What You'll Do
- Product Marketing Strategy – Gain a deep understanding of our audience, develop our positioning and messaging, and communicate about the product and its benefits to our audience.
- Launches –Plan and execute product launches from strategy to messaging, channel strategy, and measurement; collaborating with product, sales, and CS.
- Lifecycle marketing – Create content and messaging for email drip campaigns throughout the customer lifecycle.
- Content strategy – We want to become the destination for learning about material and earthworks management. We will use SEO to acquire users. You’ll work with contractors and future content marketing hires to make this happen.
Preferred Qualifications
- Marketing experience: At least five (5) years of marketing experience, with a focus, or coming from product marketing
- Industry or business model experience: A strong track record of developing and executing B2B SaaS go-to-market strategies.
- Experience setting marketing strategy AND executing: You’re able to balance strategic vision and operational excellence, from setting high-level team strategy to getting in the weeds planning launches and doing competitive research. This is an early-stage startup and you will be doing both.
- Product marketing depth: With core competencies in positioning, messaging, and product launches
- Marketing breadth: You understand channel, content, and comms strategy in addition to product marketing strategy.
- Writing ability: You’ve written short-form and long-form content, and can point to examples of your writing.
- High-quality bar: You’ve developed marketing strategies and tactics that put the customer first while hitting growth goals at the same time.
- Interest in our product/mission-aligned/values-aligned: Knowledge of growing B2B saas platforms or a strong desire to learn about these topics quickly.
- Goal setting & prioritization: You know how to set both short-term goals and long-term goals that are used for prioritization and focused on impact.
