Position: Software Program Manager

We are seeking a Software Program Manager to join and grow our team. This role requires collaboration with both internal and external teams to serve one of our core clients. The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic about joining a team that builds innovative software solutions in partnership with external clients. As part of our engineering team, you will use your Agile/INVEST, Product, and Scrum experience to help drive solutions for our clients. Collaborating with external product and engineering colleagues, you will be a vital contributor to translating business and market objectives into engineering specifications and projects, ensuring on-time delivery. You will utilize various means (e.g., visual tools like Miro and workshops) to facilitate understanding across different concepts and teams.

Location:

We are looking for someone in the Vancouver area. While initially WFH, in-person expectations will be a couple of days per week as the team grows. You will be working with colleagues in multiple time zones, including Australia. Please have the ability and willingness to work during hours that enable real-time collaboration with them.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Product team with building and maintaining the backlog, ensuring all requirements and user stories align with product strategy and are contained within the Opportunity Backlog.

• Work closely with internal stakeholders to convert business needs into business and technical requirements.

• Translate requirements into high-quality user stories, including personas and acceptance criteria, ensuring the stories can be tested both functionally and non-functionally.

• Decompose initiatives into features, services, and stories that have been prioritized by Product Management and presented during Planning under direction from Engineering (utilizing INVEST).

• Maintain traceability between user stories and feature/service enhancements.

• Facilitate Agile estimation, prioritization, and planning workshops, identifying and managing inter-team dependencies.

• Run various workshops such as story mapping, release planning, and feature/service/user story walkthroughs for each release/sprint.

• Assist with integration testing as needed to ensure that product enhancements work as expected.

• Lead delivery of product features/services, manage timelines with Engineering and assist the team by removing blockers and achieving Sprint goals.

• Lead Agile ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Backlog refinement, and Daily Stand-ups.

• Be an Agile champion and Scrum Master within the organization, helping to lead and coach team members on Agile ways of working.

Qualifications:

• College degree; CS degree a plus.

• Ability and willingness, at times, to work during hours enabling real-time collaboration with Australia-based colleagues.

• 3+ years of industry experience as a Project/Program Manager with demonstrated experience in delivering Agile initiatives on high-performing teams in a digital environment.

• Critical thinking ability and strong problem-solving capacity.

• Ability to communicate clearly at various levels, from technical requirements to stakeholder management.

• Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage and simplify complex systems and requirements.

• Creative and innovative with a passion for continuous improvement.

• Experience using JIRA, Confluence, or similar technologies.

• Experience working with Agile teams and running Agile ceremonies.

  • Located in Vancouver or willing to relocate prior to commencement.
