Softmax Data Inc. is headquartered in Vancouver’s downtown core. We are a boutique consultancy specializing in developing proprietary software in machine learning, data pipeline, and data analytics.

We are looking for a software developer specialized in .Net to serve one of our core clients, a leader in the US real estate software space. The Software Engineer should be interested in becoming part of a team building innovative software solutions with external clients. This position will work mainly on our client’s team, but will have opportunities to work with a broad set of other clients.

As a senior developer, the individual is required to not only work independently but also lead development along with project managers, product managers, and engineering managers.

This role will also require working with other team members in Australia and Indonesia; therefore there is an expectation for the need to be available in Australia in the morning hours (late afternoon West Coast Canada); as such, the person for this role must be located on the West Coast of Canada.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to a team of internal and external engineers  

• Translating customer features and business needs into software.

• Working productively with minimum supervision as well as enjoying collaborating with others.

• Contribute to the development of new product features for legacy products.

• Investigate and fix support tickets.

• Ensure all code is created in accordance with MoxiWorks development practices striving for efficiency and high-quality code.

• Documentation, testing and QA of all work items.

• Collaboration with other engineers within our client's team, across all locations as required.

• Contribute to the development of new product features utilizing the latest version of .Net.

Qualifications

• Must be located within the Pacific Time Zone

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or equivalent).

• At least 3 years of experience in .Net v4 (or earlier), including experience with VB.Net. 

• Experience with SQL Server (minimum 3 years).

• Demonstratable experience working in Azure environment.

• Demonstratable knowledge of programming best practices, current programming trends and the modern-day engineering ecosystem.

• Experience with software engineering best practices including CI/CD and automated testing. 

• Demonstrable experience with .Net Core 6 and C# (Desirable).

• Experience working in Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
