Our vision is to revolutionize the industrial, construction, and maintenance sectors, our drones will eventually handle a wide range of at-height tasks—from window washing to painting and building—all powered by advanced robotics.

About the Role:

As a Business Development Representative, you will play a critical role in the early stages of Skygauge’s growth journey. This is a dynamic and fast-paced position with significant opportunities for career development as you hone your sales skills with our innovative technology.

In this role, you will be responsible for initiating contact with potential customers. We will provide comprehensive training to help you identify prospective organizations and target key decision-makers within those companies. Your outreach will involve leveraging multiple channels, including social media, phone calls, and email.

The role requires a high volume of outbound calls and consistent engagement with potential clients. Success in this position demands professionalism, resilience, and persistence. You will conduct initial screening calls and product demonstrations before transitioning the lead to a senior sales representative for negotiation and closing.

Although this is a high-volume, cold-sales role, Skygauge emphasizes a consultative sales approach. Given the complexity of our product—a drone designed for ultrasonic testing—it's essential to thoroughly qualify prospects and understand their unique needs, objectives, and budget before progressing the sales process.

Your Skillset:

You are energetic, hardworking, humble, and willing to learn. While customer relationship management experience, technical knowledge, and prior sales experience with high-tech products are beneficial, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn are the most important qualities we look for.

It is a startup environment, so priorities shift quickly and the organization grows rapidly – this can be a good thing since there’s nearly unlimited potential for career growth, but such an environment is not for everyone. If you are curious, versatile, and can roll with the punches then you will do well here – if you are looking for a heavily structured, procedure heavy role with a slower pace of change, this position might not be for you.

Location:

Southern Ontario (GTA, Hamilton, and Kitchener-Cambridge-Waterloo), NOT REMOTE - This is a full time in-office position at our offices located on 150 Chatham Street, Unit 13, Hamilton, ON.

Skills:

Required

- Excellent Interpersonal Communication Skills (Verbal and Written)

- Empathy and rapport-building

- Patience, professionalism, and conflict resolution

- Basic computer skills (email, word processing, spreadsheets)

- Organizational Skills (Staying on top of tasks, follow ups, etc…)

Optional:

- CRM Experience, especially with Hubspot CRM or similar

- Sales experience, especially in b2b tech

Other Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Access to personal transportation
  • Able to work in-person with our team at the Skygauge facility (NOT REMOTE)
