Signal 1 is a digital healthcare start-up on a mission to transform hospital care with AI. Formed out of a partnership between Unity Health Toronto, a hospital network in Ontario, and Layer 6, a world-leading applied AI company, Signal 1 provides hospitals with an end-to-end clinical AI solution that delivers better patient outcomes, reduced stress on staff and improved access to care. Our Signal 1 AI Platform enables model lifecycle management, including model development, deployment, monitoring, and operations, at a large scale.

As a Senior Platform Engineer at Signal 1 AI, you will work closely with our software development and machine learning teams to deploy, automate, and maintain Azure cloud-based infrastructure for our Healthcare AI solution. You will be responsible for ensuring that our SaaS platform and applications are running smoothly and efficiently in a production environment while also collaborating with the teams and customers to improve the security, development and deployment processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build, deploy, and manage Azure-based SaaS platform
• Develop and maintain automation scripts for deployment, scaling, and monitoring of infrastructure and applications
• Work with development and ml science teams to improve software and models delivery and deployment processes
• Ensure security and compliance of the cloud infrastructure
• Monitor and troubleshoot production issues to maintain high availability and reliability
• Implement disaster recovery and backup procedures for critical services and data
• Stay up-to-date with the latest tools and technologies and evaluate them for adoption
• Work closely with our customers on the solution integration with hospital's infrastructure
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to critical incidents in a timely manner

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• At least 5 years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps or related field
• Experience with Azure cloud infrastructure, services, and tools such as Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure AD, PostgreSQL, Azure Monitor, and Azure Storage Account (or equivalent services in AWS and GCP)
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools, preferably Terraform
• Advocating CI/CD best practices and building pipelines in GitHub Actions
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and customers
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and identify root causes
• Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Datadog
• Familiarity with Docker containers and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes
• Experience in building SaaS platforms for AI applications is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills.
